"....I'm trying to go to college. I've been trying to attend every semester since fall 2007 and now I'm
afraid that another year is going by and I might not be able to attend. I was forced to leave college due to
financial reasons, it was definitely not something I ever thought about doing nor would I ever want to do.
I never planned on dropping out but as the economy failed so did my parents ability to pay for my
college. I've been struggling since then: going back and forth between homeless and unemployment and
paying off student loans, phone bills, and food etc etc etc.  Doing everything I can to facilitate the basic
necessities for me to survive, but as time goes by I'm realizing more and more that a solid education mixed
with the experience can provide is also part of what I feel I can't live with out.
Not only does it feel like I never get a break, but I can plainly see it on paper.  I have accepted that I need
to pay off bills, loans, and such but that has left me with zero room to save any money for college. I
received financial aid for this coming year, but it's not nearly enough for me to attend even if my parents
could help. My parent's income is actually being used against me. I'm not rich enough to pay for school
but not poor enough (based on taxes that aren't even mine but are my parent's) to get more financial aid. I
am too poor to take out a loan and not smart enough for a scholarship. It's just battle after uphill battle
trying to get into school, get a degree, get my life together, and trying so hard but somehow not getting to
where I need to be. I'm really hoping you can help or even point me in the right direction..."
